“Stop the Press!” is often used in the newspaper production room when something spectacular and important has to be set in print. The press has to be stopped to include the amazing news breaking article in print.

 At IPEX’06 in Birmingham, India’s Jagran Prakashan Ltd, publisher of Danik Jagran did just that when they purchased 22 units of Dainippon Screen PlateRite News 2000S.

Nippon Color, a Dainippon Screen Singapore Pte Ltd’s distributor in India closed the deal. Jayant Pardiwala, Managing Director of Nippon Color said, “Danik Jagran is definitely satisfied with the reliability and performance of our PlateRite News 2000S.”

It all started in June 2005 when Danik Jagran bought 2 units of Screen PlateRite 4300 for its Noida plant. They were very happy with the quality, reliability and service of the Screen CtP systems. 3 months later they purchased another 4 units of Screen CtP systems – the PlateRite News 2000S for their plants in Uttar Pradesh and Indore.

“The new order of the 22 units of PlateRite News 2000S will go to Jagran’s 11 printing plants in India,” added Pardiwala.

Productivity is important in newspaper printing. This high speed CtP from Screen is capable of output speed of 84 broadsheet plates or 41 double width plates. The simultaneous loading of 2 broadsheet plates provided the possibility of the increased productivity.
